One surgeon, from consultation to follow-up

At Will Be, Dr. Kim does not delegate surgery. There is no arrangement in which one doctor consults and another operates. When you sit down to talk about your eyelids or your jawline, you are speaking with the person who will make each decision in the operating room.

The same continuity applies after surgery. Healing is a process that unfolds over weeks and months. Having the operating surgeon review each stage means that small changes are interpreted in the context of what was actually done. See the one-surgeon principle.

How does Dr. Kim approach surgery?

Dr. Kim's approach is anatomy first. Before discussing technique, he examines the structures involved: the strength of the levator muscle that opens the eyelid, the position of the orbital fat, the thickness of the skin, the support of the SMAS layer in the face. The plan follows from what he finds.

He explains this reasoning in consultation, in plain language. Patients are encouraged to understand why a particular approach is suggested and what its limits are. Where a smaller procedure, a non-surgical option or no treatment at all would serve you better, he will say so.

Revision cases receive particular care. Scar tissue, altered anatomy and the emotional weight of an earlier disappointment all shape the plan, and timing is often as important as technique. Read am I a candidate for revision? for more.

Patient education on YouTube

Dr. Kim runs an educational YouTube channel, @willbekim, where he explains procedures, anatomy and recovery for people considering surgery. The aim is to help viewers make informed decisions, whether or not they choose Will Be. See videos and media for more.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Still wondering about something? Ask Dr. Kim directly — every consultation at Will Be is with the surgeon himself.

Does Dr. Kim perform every surgery himself?

Yes. At Will Be Plastic Surgery, Dr. Kim Jun-young, representative surgeon, personally performs every operation. He also carries out the consultation, the surgical design and the follow-up visits. The clinic does not use a model in which a different doctor operates from the one you met.

Will I meet Dr. Kim at my consultation?

Yes. Consultations at Will Be are carried out by Dr. Kim himself. This allows him to examine your anatomy directly, hear what you want, and design a plan that he will then carry out in surgery. Consultations are by appointment.

What does Dr. Kim focus on?

His practice focuses on eyelid surgery, especially revision double eyelid surgery, along with endoscopic forehead lift, facelift, thread lift, non-implant rhinoplasty, PRP micro fat grafting and men's eye and nose surgery. Selected non-surgical treatments are also offered.

Where can I learn more about his approach?

Dr. Kim shares educational videos on his YouTube channel, @willbekim, covering procedures, anatomy and recovery. The patient guides on this site follow the same approach. The clearest way to understand his thinking for your own case is a consultation.

Can Dr. Kim review a previous surgery done elsewhere?

Yes. Many patients consult about revision eyelid surgery after an earlier operation. Dr. Kim assesses scar tissue, remaining skin, crease position and muscle function, and advises whether revision is suitable now, later, or not at all. Timing after the first surgery is an important part of that decision.
