MIRACELL Stem Cell Treatment in Seoul
Your own blood carries cells and growth factors that take part in repair. MIRACELL concentrates them and returns them where they are needed.
MIRACELL stem cell treatment uses your own blood. Blood is drawn through an IV line and processed in the MIRACELL system, which centrifuges it to concentrate a cell fraction that includes CD34+ stem and progenitor cells, together with highly concentrated platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and growth factors. This concentrate is then returned to you, by IV infusion into a vein and by injection into the dermis of the skin. It is used to support skin quality and recovery, and results are gradual and vary between people.

What is MIRACELL stem cell treatment?
MIRACELL is a Korean system for concentrating cells and growth factors from a patient's own blood. At Will Be it is used for an autologous treatment, which means everything injected comes from your own body: no donor cells and no animal-derived ingredients.
The treatment combines three components from your blood: a concentrated cell fraction that includes CD34+ stem and progenitor cells, highly concentrated platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and the growth factors that platelets release. It does not add volume and does not lift. It aims to support the skin's own repair processes from within.
Who is MIRACELL suitable for?
MIRACELL may suit you if you:
- notice dull, tired-looking skin, fine lines or loss of firmness;
- want to support skin quality or recovery after a surgical procedure;
- prefer a treatment based on your own blood rather than a manufactured product;
- understand that results are gradual and vary.
It is not suitable if you have a blood disorder, an active infection, active or recent cancer, very low platelet counts, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Blood-thinning medicines may need to be reviewed. Dr. Kim checks your medical history and may request blood tests before treatment.
How Dr. Kim approaches MIRACELL
Dr. Kim treats MIRACELL as one tool among several, not as a cure-all. At consultation he looks at what is actually driving your concern: skin quality, volume loss, sagging or a combination. If volume loss or sagging is the main issue, he will say so, because a skin-quality treatment will not fix those.
When MIRACELL is appropriate, he plans the injection areas and depth for your skin, and explains how it may sit alongside treatments such as Rejuran or PRP micro fat grafting.
How it works: from blood draw to injection
The treatment follows four steps:
- Blood draw. An IV line is placed and a measured volume of your blood is collected.
- Processing. The blood is placed in a sterile, single-use MIRACELL kit and centrifuged. This separates the blood into layers so that the cell fraction containing CD34+ cells, the platelet-rich plasma and the growth factors can be harvested in a highly concentrated form.
- IV infusion. Part of the concentrate is returned into a vein through the IV line.
- Intradermal injection. The rest is injected into the dermis, the skin layer where collagen is made, in the planned treatment areas.
Growth factors from platelets are known to take part in tissue repair. CD34+ cells are progenitor cells that are involved in forming new small blood vessels. Research on how much these effects improve skin appearance is still developing, which is why Will Be describes results cautiously.
What results can you expect, and how long do they last?
Changes are gradual rather than immediate. Many people describe skin that looks brighter and feels smoother and more hydrated over the following weeks. Some people notice more change than others, and some notice little.
How long any improvement lasts varies with age, skin condition and lifestyle. Dr. Kim will discuss whether a single session or a short course makes sense for you, and whether maintenance is worth considering.
Before your appointment
Drink plenty of water the day before and eat normally before treatment, as this makes the blood draw easier. Avoid alcohol for a day or two beforehand.
Tell Dr. Kim about any blood-thinning medicines and supplements, such as aspirin or fish oil; some may need to be paused, as explained in the guide to medications and supplements to pause. Avoid strong skin treatments to the area in the week before.
What happens during treatment and afterward?
After a consultation and skin assessment, numbing cream is applied to the injection areas. The blood draw and processing take place while you rest, followed by the IV infusion and the skin injections. The whole visit usually takes a couple of hours.
Afterwards, small bumps, redness and pinpoint marks at the injection sites are common for a day or two, and bruising can occur, including at the IV site. Most people return to normal activities the same or next day. Avoid saunas, intense exercise and alcohol for about 24 to 48 hours.
Risks and how they are minimised
Because MIRACELL uses your own blood, allergic reactions to the material itself are unlikely. The main risks are:
- bruising, swelling and tenderness at the injection and IV sites, which settle within days;
- infection, which is rare and is reduced by using a sterile, single-use kit and careful skin preparation;
- light-headedness during or after the blood draw, reduced by eating beforehand and resting afterwards;
- uneven results between areas.
Dr. Kim performs the injections himself, and the safety standards page explains how treatments are monitored at Will Be.
What MIRACELL is not
It is important to be clear about what this treatment does not do. MIRACELL is not a facelift and does not lift sagging tissue. It does not replace lost volume the way filler or fat grafting can. It is not a treatment for disease, and it should not be described as one.
The SMART M-CELL system received US FDA 510(k) clearance in 2026 as a concentration system for blood and bone marrow. That clearance relates to the device itself and is not a claim about specific skin results.
MIRACELL, Rejuran or Juvelook?
All three are aimed at skin quality, but they work differently. MIRACELL uses concentrated cells, PRP and growth factors from your own blood. Rejuran uses polynucleotides to support skin repair. Juvelook is a collagen stimulator that builds subtle firmness over time.
The Rejuran vs Juvelook comparison explains those two in detail. Dr. Kim will recommend one, a combination, or none, depending on your skin.
Treatment during a visit to Korea
MIRACELL can usually be done in a single visit, with little downtime, so it fits easily into a short trip to Seoul. Plan for at least 1 to 2 days in Seoul for consultation and treatment, and avoid flying on the same day if you can, so that any early swelling or bruising can settle.
If you are also having surgery at Will Be, Dr. Kim will advise whether and when MIRACELL fits into your plan. The page on how long to stay in Korea helps with planning.

Frequently asked questions
Still wondering about something? Ask Dr. Kim directly — every consultation at Will Be is with the surgeon himself.
Is MIRACELL really a stem cell treatment?
The MIRACELL system concentrates a cell fraction from your blood that includes CD34+ cells, which are stem and progenitor cells, together with platelet-rich plasma and growth factors. It does not grow or culture cells in a laboratory; everything is processed and returned on the same day.
How is MIRACELL different from ordinary PRP?
Standard PRP mainly concentrates platelets. The MIRACELL process is designed to harvest a more concentrated product that also includes a cell fraction with CD34+ cells and growth factors, and at Will Be it is given both by IV infusion and by injection into the skin.
Does MIRACELL hurt?
Numbing cream is applied before the skin injections, so most people feel pressure and mild stinging. The IV line feels like a normal blood test. Small bumps, redness and possible bruising usually settle within a few days.
When will I see results?
Results are gradual. Many people notice brighter, smoother-looking skin over the following weeks, but the degree of change varies and some people notice little. Dr. Kim will be honest about what to expect for your skin.
Is it safe because it uses my own blood?
Using your own blood avoids reactions to donor or synthetic material, but it is still a medical procedure with risks such as bruising, infection and light-headedness. A sterile single-use kit is used, and Dr. Kim checks your medical history before treatment.
How much does MIRACELL cost?
Cost depends on the treatment plan and number of sessions. Will Be provides a personal quote after Dr. Kim has assessed your skin, in person or through a virtual consultation.
