Getting from Incheon Airport to the Clinic in Sinsa
After a long flight, the last stretch should feel simple. A little preparation turns an unfamiliar airport into an easy first hour in Korea.
To get from Incheon Airport to Sinsa in Gangnam, most visitors take an airport limousine bus to the Gangnam area, a taxi, or the airport railway connecting to the Seoul subway toward Sinsa Station on Line 3 or the Shinbundang Line. Journey times vary with traffic; check current routes and fares with official sources.
Incheon Airport to Sinsa, Gangnam: your main options
Most international patients arrive at Incheon International Airport, which sits on an island west of Seoul. Getting from Incheon Airport to Sinsa in Gangnam usually means one of three broad options: an airport limousine bus, a taxi or private transfer, or rail and subway. Each works well; the right choice depends on your luggage, your energy after the flight, the time of day and whether you are travelling before or after surgery.
Routes, timetables and fares change, so treat this page as an overview. Check the official Incheon Airport website, the operators' own information, or ask the coordinator for current details before you travel. Some visitors arrive at Gimpo Airport instead, which is closer to central Seoul and has similar options.
Airport limousine bus
Airport limousine buses run from Incheon to many parts of Seoul, including the Gangnam area. They are a comfortable choice with luggage, since bags are stowed underneath and seats are generally roomy. Ticket counters and machines are in the arrivals hall, and signs are in English. Check which route drops you closest to your accommodation; you may need a short taxi ride for the final stretch. Journey time depends heavily on traffic, so allow generously, particularly at rush hour.
Taxi or private transfer
A taxi from the official taxi rank goes directly to your door, which many patients appreciate after a long-haul flight. Journey time to Gangnam commonly runs to around an hour or more, depending on traffic and the time of day. Fares vary by taxi type, time and tolls; use only the official taxi ranks and ask the driver to use the meter, or use a reputable ride-hailing app. Keep your accommodation address in Korean on your phone to show the driver.
Some hotels and private companies offer pre-booked transfers, which can feel reassuring if you arrive late at night or travel alone.
Rail and subway
The airport railway connects Incheon Airport with the Seoul subway network. From there, you can reach Sinsa Station, which is served by Line 3 and the Shinbundang Line, via connecting lines. This is often economical and avoids road traffic, but it involves transfers, stairs and crowded platforms at busy times. It is a good option for a light traveller on the way in, and a less appealing one after surgery. A rechargeable transport card, sold at convenience stores and stations, makes paying fares simple.
Which option suits you?
- Arriving with heavy luggage or late at night: taxi, private transfer or limousine bus.
- Arriving light, during the day, and feeling energetic: rail and subway can work well.
- Returning to the airport after surgery: a taxi or transfer from your door is usually the gentlest choice, with no stairs or crowds.
After surgery, swelling around the eyes can narrow your field of vision for a few days, and you may still feel tired. Avoid lifting heavy suitcases; ask a companion, driver or hotel staff for help. Leave extra time on departure day, and read flying after plastic surgery for tips on the journey itself.
Practical tips for arrival day
- Buy a local SIM or activate an eSIM at the airport so you can message the clinic and use maps.
- Download a local map app; international map services can be less detailed in Korea.
- Carry a small amount of local currency, although cards are widely accepted.
- Save the clinic address: 5F Mihye Building, 590 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, near Sinsa Station.
- Message the coordinator once you land, especially if your consultation is the same day.
From Sinsa Station to the clinic
Will Be is on the fifth floor of the Mihye Building on Gangnam-daero, a short walk from Sinsa Station and close to Garosu-gil. If you arrive by subway, follow the exit signs and your map app; the coordinator can share walking directions in advance. Our Sinsa and Garosu-gil neighborhood guide describes the area, and the clinic tour shows what to expect when you step inside.
Arriving on the same day as your consultation
Some patients, especially those with limited leave, hope to land in the morning and attend a consultation the same afternoon. This can work, but it leaves little margin for delays at immigration, baggage reclaim or on the road. If you plan it this way, share your flight number with the coordinator, keep your phone charged, and message the clinic as soon as you land so the appointment can be moved if needed. Where possible, a consultation the following day is kinder. You will be rested, better able to follow a detailed explanation of your anatomy and options, and more likely to remember the questions you wanted to ask. Surgery itself is rarely scheduled on arrival day, both for your comfort and so that pre-operative checks can be completed without hurry.
Planning the rest of your stay
Your arrival is one piece of a wider plan. See planning your trip to Seoul for dates and documents, and where to stay near the clinic for choosing accommodation. If possible, arrive at least a day before your consultation to rest and adjust to the time difference.

Frequently asked questions
Still wondering about something? Ask Dr. Kim directly — every consultation at Will Be is with the surgeon himself.
How long does it take to get from Incheon Airport to Sinsa?
It depends on the transport you choose and on traffic. By taxi or limousine bus, the journey to Gangnam commonly takes around an hour or more, and longer at rush hour. Rail with subway transfers avoids road traffic but involves changes. Allow extra time and check current journey estimates with the operators before you travel.
Is a taxi from the airport a good idea?
For many patients, yes, especially with luggage or after a long flight. Use the official taxi rank or a reputable ride-hailing app, and keep your destination address in Korean to show the driver. Fares depend on the taxi type, time of day and tolls, so check current information rather than relying on a fixed figure.
Can I take the subway to Sinsa Station?
Yes. The airport railway links Incheon Airport with the Seoul subway network, and Sinsa Station is served by Line 3 and the Shinbundang Line. The route involves at least one transfer, stairs and sometimes crowded trains. It suits light travellers on arrival day, but a taxi is usually more comfortable when you return to the airport after surgery.
How should I get to the airport after surgery?
A taxi or pre-booked transfer from your accommodation is usually the gentlest option. It avoids stairs, crowds and lifting luggage while you may still be swollen or tired. Leave plenty of time, keep your aftercare medications and instructions in your hand luggage, and follow Dr. Kim's advice on when you are ready to fly.
Does the clinic arrange airport pick-up?
Ask the coordinator what is currently available. Arrangements can change, and many patients prefer to organize their own transport through a hotel, a reputable transfer company or the official airport taxi rank. Whichever you choose, let the clinic know your arrival time so your consultation can be scheduled realistically after your flight.
