Rejuran Skin Healer in Seoul
Some skin does not need more volume or more lift. It needs better quality. Rejuran works on that quieter layer.
Rejuran is an injectable skin treatment based on polynucleotides, purified DNA fragments derived from salmon, that are thought to support the skin's own repair processes. It is used to improve texture, fine lines, elasticity and hydration. A course typically involves three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, with gradual rather than immediate results.

What is Rejuran?
Rejuran, often called Rejuran Healer, is a Korean injectable skin treatment based on polynucleotides(PN). Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, purified from salmon. When injected into the skin, they are thought to support tissue repair, encourage the activity of fibroblasts (the skin cells that produce collagen and elastin), and help the skin retain moisture.
Rejuran does not add volume and does not lift. It is a skin-quality treatment, aimed at improving how the skin looks and feels from within over a course of sessions.
Who is Rejuran suitable for?
Rejuran may suit you if you have:
- dull, tired-looking skin or uneven texture, as described on dull skin texture;
- fine lines and reduced elasticity, especially in thin skin;
- enlarged pores or mild acne scarring;
- delicate skin under the eyes, where a specific eye formulation is available.
It is not suitable if you have an allergy to fish or salmon-derived products, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with active infection in the area. It will not correct sagging, deep folds or significant volume loss; those need different treatments.
How Dr. Kim approaches Rejuran
At Will Be, injectable treatments are assessed and performed by Dr. Kim Jun-young himself, the same surgeon who performs the clinic's operations. There is no hand-off to another injector. That matters because the judgement behind a good injectable result is surgical judgement: understanding the layers of the face, where vessels and nerves run, and what a treatment can and cannot achieve compared with surgery. When an injectable is not the right answer, you will be told so.
Dr. Kim looks at the whole face and asks what is really bothering you. If your concern is laxity or hollowness, he will say so rather than suggesting a skin booster that cannot address it. When skin quality is the issue, he plans the course, the areas and the formulation to suit your skin thickness and goals.
How polynucleotides work in the skin
The dermis, the thick layer of skin beneath the surface, contains fibroblasts embedded in a matrix of collagen, elastin and water-binding molecules. With age, sun exposure and inflammation, fibroblast activity slows and the matrix thins. Skin looks less firm and less luminous.
Polynucleotides are thought to act in several ways. They may provide a scaffold that supports fibroblasts, promote a healthier environment for repair, and bind water, which contributes to hydration. Laboratory and clinical research supports these effects, but the evidence is still developing, and individual responses vary. That is why Rejuran is more honestly described as supportive than transformative.
The product is placed in the superficial dermis in many tiny injections across the treatment area, either by hand or with an injection device, so that it is distributed evenly.
What results can you expect, and how long do they last?
Results appear gradually. Many people notice improved glow and hydration within a few weeks, with texture and elasticity improving over the course of sessions. The effect is subtle: skin tends to look healthier and more even rather than dramatically different.
A typical course is three to four sessions, two to four weeks apart. Maintenance is often recommended every six to twelve months, depending on your skin and goals. Results are not long-term without maintenance, because the skin continues to age.
Before your appointment
Preparing for Rejuran is simple, but a few steps help. Tell Dr. Kim about your medical history, allergies, medications and any previous injectables or surgery in the area, including the product names if you know them. Blood thinners, aspirin, some anti-inflammatories, fish oil, vitamin E and certain supplements can increase bruising; do not stop prescribed medication without medical advice, but mention everything. If you have an important event, plan treatment at least two weeks beforehand so that any swelling or bruising has settled and the result can be reviewed. Arrive without makeup on the treatment area if possible.
What happens during treatment and afterward?
- Numbing: anesthetic cream is applied for about 20 to 30 minutes, as Rejuran injections are known to be more uncomfortable than some other skin boosters.
- Injection: many small injections are made across the treated area.
- Afterward: small raised bumps are expected and usually settle within one to three days. Mild redness and occasional small bruises may occur.
- Aftercare: avoid makeup for the rest of the day, and avoid saunas, strenuous exercise and alcohol for about 24 hours.
Risks and how they are minimised
Side effects are usually mild: bumps, redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness. Less commonly, infection, prolonged lumps or allergic reactions can occur. Anyone with a fish allergy should not have Rejuran. Dr. Kim reduces risks by screening allergies and medical history, using sterile technique, placing the product at the correct depth, and reviewing any concerns promptly.
Rejuran under the eyes
The skin beneath the eyes is among the thinnest on the body, and it often shows fine crinkling, dullness and a slightly shadowed look before other areas do. A dedicated eye formulation of Rejuran is designed for this delicate area and is placed very superficially with small, careful injections. It can improve the quality and thickness of the skin, which some people find softens the tired look.
It will not correct under-eye bags, which come from fat pushing forward, or a deep tear trough caused by volume loss and ligament tethering. Those need different approaches, and Dr. Kim will distinguish between them at your assessment.
Rejuran or Juvelook?
Rejuran focuses on repair and skin quality; Juvelook focuses on collagen stimulation with a gentle volumizing effect. The comparison of Rejuran vs Juvelook explains which suits which concern.
Treatment during a visit to Korea
Because a course involves several sessions a few weeks apart, many international patients have one session during a visit and continue at home, or plan repeat trips. Small bumps settle within days, so flying afterward is generally fine. If you are also planning surgery during the same trip, Dr. Kim will advise on sequencing, since injectables are usually kept apart from areas that will swell after an operation. The page on how long to stay in Korea can help you plan your time.
After you return home, you can send photographs to the clinic if anything concerns you, and Dr. Kim will review them himself. For any sudden or severe symptom after an injectable, seek local medical care promptly as well as contacting the clinic.

Frequently asked questions
Still wondering about something? Ask Dr. Kim directly — every consultation at Will Be is with the surgeon himself.
What is Rejuran made of?
Rejuran is based on polynucleotides, purified DNA fragments derived from salmon. They are thought to support skin repair, fibroblast activity and hydration in the dermis. Because of their origin, Rejuran is not suitable for people with a fish or salmon allergy, so allergies are always checked before treatment.
How many Rejuran sessions do I need?
A typical course is three to four sessions, two to four weeks apart. Some people see benefit sooner, and some need more. Maintenance sessions every six to twelve months are often recommended. Dr. Kim will suggest a plan based on your skin and goals.
Does Rejuran hurt?
Rejuran is generally considered more uncomfortable than some other skin boosters, because many small injections are made into the superficial skin. Numbing cream is applied for 20 to 30 minutes beforehand, which makes treatment tolerable for most people. Discomfort usually fades quickly once the injections are finished.
How long do Rejuran results last?
After a full course, results commonly last several months, often six to twelve, but this varies with age, skin condition, sun exposure and lifestyle. The skin continues to age, so maintenance sessions are usually needed to sustain the effect. Daily sun protection helps preserve the improvement.
Will Rejuran lift my face or fill wrinkles?
No. Rejuran improves skin quality: texture, hydration, fine lines and elasticity. It does not lift sagging tissue or fill deep folds and hollows. For those concerns, thread lifting, fillers, fat grafting or surgery may be more appropriate, and Dr. Kim will explain the options.
How much does Rejuran cost?
Cost depends on the formulation, the area treated, such as the full face or under the eyes, and the number of sessions in your course. Will Be provides a personal quote after Dr. Kim has assessed your skin, in person or through a virtual consultation with clear photographs.
