The short answer In brief

The easiest place to stay near the clinic is within Sinsa-dong or a short taxi ride away in Gangnam, close to Sinsa Station and Garosu-gil. Look for a quiet room with an elevator, space to rest upright, a kettle or small kitchen, flexible housekeeping and easy access to convenience stores, pharmacies and taxis.

Where to stay near the clinic: location first

When deciding where to stay near the clinic, proximity is the single most useful quality. Will Be is on the fifth floor of the Mihye Building on Gangnam-daero, in Sinsa-dong, near Sinsa Station (served by Line 3 and the Shinbundang Line) and the Garosu-gil area. Staying within walking distance or a short taxi ride means check-ups are simple, you spend less time in traffic while swollen, and you can return to rest quickly. The surrounding Gangnam and Sinsa area has a range of hotels, serviced apartments and short-stay residences at different levels of budget.

What makes a room good for recovery?

  • Quiet: a room away from street noise or nightlife helps you sleep, which supports healing.
  • Elevator access: carrying luggage up stairs is not ideal after surgery.
  • Space to rest upright: after eye, nose and facial procedures, keeping the head elevated reduces swelling. Extra pillows or a chair that reclines helps.
  • A kettle, fridge and ideally a small kitchen: for soft foods, cold compress packs and staying hydrated.
  • Flexible housekeeping: you may prefer not to be disturbed during the first days.
  • Good blackout curtains: useful for resting during the day and adjusting to the time difference.
  • Reliable Wi-Fi: for messaging the clinic and, frankly, for entertainment while you rest.

Hotel or serviced apartment?

Both work. A hotel offers a front desk, daily service and help with taxis, which can be reassuring if you travel alone. A serviced apartment or residence typically offers more space and a kitchen, which some patients prefer for longer stays such as after a facelift or revision double eyelid surgery. Consider how long you will be in Seoul; for stays approaching two or three weeks, the extra space often feels welcome.

Recovery-focused stays

Seoul also has accommodation designed around cosmetic surgery recovery, sometimes with added services. These can be convenient, but look at them with the same care you would anywhere: read terms carefully, understand what is included, and remember that medical care after surgery comes from your surgeon, not from the accommodation. At Will Be, your follow-up is always with Dr. Kim Jun-young in person at the clinic.

Getting to and from appointments

Even at a short distance, it is worth thinking about how you will reach the clinic on surgery day and afterwards. Taxis are widely available in Gangnam, and a hotel front desk can help call one. On surgery day, plan to arrive a little early and to leave by taxi rather than on foot, even if the walk is short, since you may feel light-headed or have limited vision while the eyes are swollen. On later check-up days, a short walk in daylight can feel pleasant. Keep the clinic address saved in both English and Korean on your phone, so that a driver can read it easily: 5F Mihye Building, 590 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Staying a little farther away

Some patients prefer to stay elsewhere in Seoul, perhaps near family or friends. That can work, especially with a companion to help. Allow for longer journeys in traffic, and consider moving closer to the clinic for the first few nights after surgery, when appointments are most frequent and rest matters most.

Booking tips

  • Book a refundable or changeable rate where possible, in case your plan changes after the in-person consultation.
  • Consider booking a few nights beyond your planned stay; shortening a booking is often easier than extending one at short notice.
  • If you travel with a companion, check that the room works for two people spending long hours inside.
  • Share your accommodation details with the coordinator so the clinic knows where you are staying.

Your first night after surgery

Plan to go straight to your accommodation after being discharged from the clinic. Have water, soft food and your prescribed medications ready, and keep cold packs in the freezer if you have one. Sleep with your head raised. If you had sedation, someone should ideally be with you that evening. Our guide to recovering comfortably in Seoul covers the first days in more detail, and reducing swelling and bruising explains why head elevation and cold compresses help.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Still wondering about something? Ask Dr. Kim directly — every consultation at Will Be is with the surgeon himself.

Is it better to stay within walking distance of the clinic?

It helps, though a short taxi ride is also fine. Being close means shorter trips for check-ups and less time sitting in traffic when you are swollen and tired. The clinic is in Sinsa-dong near Sinsa Station and Garosu-gil, and there is a range of hotels and serviced apartments in the surrounding Gangnam area at different budgets.

Does the clinic book accommodation for patients?

Ask the coordinator what help is currently available. Many patients book their own accommodation, and the coordinator can usually share general advice on the area and what to look for. Whatever you choose, let the clinic know where you are staying, so that follow-up plans and any messages after surgery are straightforward.

Should I choose a hotel or a serviced apartment for recovery?

Either can work well. Hotels offer a front desk and daily service, which can be reassuring if you travel alone. Serviced apartments typically offer more space and a kitchen, which many patients appreciate for longer stays after larger procedures. Think about how many days you will spend mostly indoors and choose the setting you will be comfortable in.

What should I have ready in my room before surgery?

Have bottled water, soft foods, extra pillows for keeping your head raised, and a place to store cold packs. Keep your prescribed medications and aftercare instructions somewhere easy to find. A phone charger near the bed, comfortable front-opening clothing and sunglasses for going out also make the first days simpler.

Is Sinsa a quiet area to recover in?

Sinsa has busy main roads and a lively shopping area around Garosu-gil, but also quieter residential side streets. Choosing a room facing away from the main road, or on a higher floor, usually makes a difference. Many patients enjoy short, gentle walks in the neighborhood once they feel ready during the later days of recovery.
