The short answer In brief

A virtual consultation at Will Be lets you share photographs and a description of your concern before visiting Seoul. Dr. Kim Jun-young reviews them and gives a provisional view of suitable options, likely recovery time and how long to stay. The plan and quote are confirmed at an in-person consultation before any surgery.

How does a virtual consultation work?

  1. Contact the clinic by KakaoTalk and mention that you would like an online consultation.
  2. Send photographs taken as described in how to take photos for an online consultation.
  3. Describe your concern, your goals, your medical history and any previous surgery.
  4. Receive a provisional assessment from Dr. Kim covering possible approaches, expected recovery and a suggested length of stay.
  5. Confirm in person. On arrival in Seoul, Dr. Kim examines you before the plan and quote are finalized.

What can and cannot be assessed online?

Photographs show a great deal: crease position, lid symmetry, under-eye contour, brow height, nasal profile. They cannot show everything. Skin thickness, the strength of the levator muscle, the quality of scar tissue from previous surgery and how the face moves in conversation all need an in-person examination.

This is why an online opinion is always provisional. For revision surgery in particular, the final plan may change once Dr. Kim examines the tissue directly.

What should I send?

  • Clear, well-lit photographs from the front, both sides and both oblique angles, with a neutral expression
  • For eyelids, photographs with eyes open, gently closed and looking upward
  • A short description of what you would like to change and what you would like to keep
  • Details of any previous procedures, including dates and, if possible, the type of surgery
  • Relevant medical conditions and medications

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Still wondering about something? Ask Dr. Kim directly — every consultation at Will Be is with the surgeon himself.

Is a virtual consultation free?

[FEE POLICY TO CONFIRM] Please ask the clinic when you make contact. Either way, the online assessment is provisional, and the plan and quote are confirmed at an in-person consultation with Dr. Kim before surgery.

Who reviews my photos?

Dr. Kim Jun-young, representative surgeon, reviews the photographs and information you send. Because Will Be is a one-surgeon clinic, the surgeon who gives your provisional assessment is the same surgeon who would examine you in person and perform any surgery.

Can I book surgery based only on an online consultation?

You can plan tentative dates, but surgery is only confirmed after an in-person examination. Some details, such as muscle strength, skin thickness and scar tissue, cannot be judged from photographs. The plan may change after Dr. Kim examines you.

How should I take my photos?

Use natural daylight facing a window, remove makeup and glasses, tie back your hair and keep a neutral expression. Take front, side and oblique views at eye level. For eyelid concerns, include photographs with eyes open, gently closed and looking up. Our photo guide explains each angle.

How long should I plan to stay in Seoul?

It depends on the procedure. Many eyelid procedures require a stay of around one week, often longer for revision or combined surgery, to allow for suture removal and an early check. Dr. Kim will suggest a length of stay for your plan; your surgeon will confirm.
