What to look at in these photos
- The angle between the chin and the neck in profile.
- Definition along the jawline from chin to ear.
- Skin smoothness. Liposuction relies on reasonable skin elasticity.
When the result settles
Stitches usually come out at around 7 days and a compression garment is worn for 1–2 weeks. Most people return to work at 2–3 weeks; firmness and numbness ease and the contour develops over 3–6 months.
Lighting, angle and the time since surgery all change how a photo looks, so compare like with like.
Frequently asked questions
Is liposuction alone enough for a double chin?
It can be when fat is the main problem and the skin is elastic. When the neck muscle is loose or bands are visible, tightening the platysma as well gives a cleaner neck angle.
Will the fat come back?
Removed fat cells do not grow back, so results last if your weight stays stable. The remaining fat cells can still enlarge with weight gain.
What if I have a lot of loose skin?
Significant skin laxity is better treated with a facelift or neck lift, because liposuction cannot tighten loose skin on its own.
