What to look at in these photos
- The jawline and jowls, and the angle under the chin.
- Whether the face looks lifted upward rather than pulled sideways.
- The folds from nose to mouth. A lift softens them but does not erase them.
When the result settles
Bruising and swelling are most visible for the first 2–3 weeks. Remaining swelling settles over 3–6 months, and scars mature over about a year.
Lighting, angle and the time since surgery all change how a photo looks, so compare like with like.
Frequently asked questions
Will a facelift make me look pulled?
A pulled look usually comes from tension on the skin or a sideways pull. Lifting the deeper layer mainly upward keeps tension off the skin, which helps the result look natural.
Where are the facelift scars?
Along the temple hairline, in front of the ear, around the earlobe and behind the ear. They mature and fade over about a year.
Who is a typical facelift patient?
People with jowls, deepening nasolabial folds or loose tissue under the jaw, many of them in their late 40s to 60s. Milder sagging may suit a smaller lift instead.
