Ptosis Correction Before and After Photos Korea
Ptosis correction lifts an upper eyelid that sits too low over the eye by strengthening the eye-opening muscle. These 44 cases show incisional, non-incisional and revision correction, often combined with a new or refined double eyelid crease.
Incisional ptosis correction 33 cases
Eye opening corrected through an incision in the crease, which also allows excess skin and fat to be adjusted. Several cases add epicanthoplasty, fat repositioning or crease lowering.

What to look at in these photos
- How much of the iris and pupil the upper lid covers before and after.
- Whether both eyes now open evenly, and whether the brows sit lower and more relaxed, a sign the forehead no longer has to help lift the lids.
- The crease height in relation to the new lid position. A natural result keeps the two in proportion.
When the result settles
Stitches usually come out at around 5–7 days and visible swelling eases over 2–4 weeks, but lid height and crease keep settling for 3–6 months. Eye opening is best judged after that point.
Lighting, angle and the time since surgery all change how a photo looks, so compare like with like.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I have ptosis or just hooded eyelids?
In ptosis the edge of the upper lid itself sits too low over the eye. With hooded eyelids the lid edge is in a normal position but extra skin or a low brow hangs over it. An examination tells the two apart, and some people have both.
Will ptosis correction make me look surprised?
The lid height is planned to suit your face and checked during surgery while you open your eyes, which is possible because the operation is done under local anesthesia, often with sedation. Early swelling makes the position hard to judge for the first few weeks.
Why are so many cases combined with epicanthoplasty or a double eyelid?
Ptosis correction is often done through the same incision that forms the crease, and some patients also want the inner corner reshaped. Dr. Kim suggests a combination only when it suits the eye; many people need ptosis correction alone.
