What to look at in these photos
- The position of the outer end of the brow, which tends to drop first.
- Whether the inner brow stays soft. Over-lifting it creates a surprised look.
- How much the upper lids lighten once the brow is raised.
When the result settles
Stitches or staples usually come out at 7–10 days and visible swelling eases over 1–2 weeks, though it can drift down toward the eyes. The brow settles into its final position over 1–6 months.
Lighting, angle and the time since surgery all change how a photo looks, so compare like with like.

Will a forehead lift make me look surprised?
A surprised look usually comes from over-lifting the inner brow. The lift is designed to restore the outer brow while keeping the inner brow soft.
Where are the scars?
The incisions are short and placed inside the hair, so they are usually hidden. Any thinning around them typically recovers within a few months.
Forehead lift or upper blepharoplasty?
If lifting your brows gently with a fingertip makes your lids look much lighter, the brow is a major cause and a forehead lift may suit you. If the brow is in a good position and the excess is in the lid itself, blepharoplasty is more direct.
